It is. As I researched for this post and read the historical accounts, I was surprised anything like this could happen. I wanted to highlight it because it's important to remember that family history isn't always heroic, but it's still important to highlight the darker moments so we understand where we come from and don't make similar mistakes as our ancestors.

What dreadfully sad story of Bridget Cleary. I've read novels about Irish folklore and the fairies and to read about an actual person caught up in the folklore is so sad.
